5. The National Wax Museum Plus

Our museum features several entertaining sections full of hand-crafted wax works and lots more fun facts, games, interactive exercises and historical lessons laid out all over our three floors.

We will take you on a journey through Irish history, you will meet famous characters from Hollywood’s silver screen, journey through an enchanted children’s world, visit Ireland’s only dedicated Irish Scientists section, be inspired in our beautiful writers’ room and lots more great areas to explore.

4. Dublinia

It is a not for profit heritage centre located at Christ Church, the crossroads of Dublin’s medieval city. In our exhibition, travel back to the city in Viking times, see what life was like onboard a Viking warship, visit a Viking house and take a trip down a Viking street. Try on Viking clothes, become a slave and stroll down a noisy street.  Visit a cramped Viking house and learn of the myths and the mysteries surrounding the Vikings and their legacy.

GPO Witness History Visitor Centre

GPO Witness History Museum is an immersive, interactive and engaging experience telling the story of the 1916 Easter Rising and Modern Irish History. GPO Witness History is a permanent visitor attraction located within the historic GPO (General Post Office) building on O’Connell Street, Dublin. Free audio guides available in six different languages, subject to availability.

Kilmainham Museum

Today the building symbolises the tradition of militant and constitutional nationalism from the rebellion of 1798 to the Irish Civil War of 1922-23. Leaders of the rebellions were detained and, in some cases, executed here. Many members of the Irish Republican movement during the Anglo-Irish War (1919-21) were also detained in Kilmainham Gaol, guarded by British troops.
